| The Local Scene
There is easy access by foot to nearby beaches. Greenaway the nearest beach is about 10mins by foot with great rock pools at low tide. This beach can only be accessed by foot down quite steep steps. From this beach there is access to more secluded beaches along the coast Daymer Bay about 15 mins walk (with car park) is a wide sandy sheltered beach suitable for young children, also good for kite flying and windsurfing as well as paddling and swimming. Polzeath about 15 mins walk away also with public car park is a must for all surfers, suitable for beginners and more experienced board users All the coast line is accessible for the Coastal Path which runs north and south of Trebetherick offering dramatic cliff top views of beaches and the Atlantic. Tintagel famous for King Arthur's Legend is a 30min drive away.
Many local activies are available for holidaymakers including surfing, golf, sailing, windsurfing, kite-flying, water skiing. There is a store and post office 3minutes walk away that has a range of provisions while local shops at Polzeath half a mile away and at Rock 3miles away provide a good variety of fresh and local produce. There are several pubs, restaurants and cafés nearby. Many attractions of North Cornwall are within easy reach of this area. Padstow now famous now for the Rick Stein Seafood Restaurant and other enterprises is still a pretty Cornish harbour town and can be reached by a delightful ferry ride across the Estuary from Rock. There is a Water Taxi service available in the evening should you wish to visit Padstow in the evening. Rock itself also has many beach and watersport activites including sailing, water ski-ing and deep sea fishing trips. For trips further afield in Cornwall the splendid National Trust Link shows details of many properties and gardens. The exciting new attractions of the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan (link) are easily manageable as half day or full day day outings. TOP HOME
